Anglia Regatta (posted 25 May 2010)
The Anglia Land Yacht Club will be holding their second regatta in the 2009/10 British Championship series on their airfield circuit at Bassingbourn over the weekend of June 12th and 13th. All licensed pilots from BFSLYC clubs are welcome.

The event will be a series of races in accordance with BFSLYC rules for classes 3, 5 and Standart. Prizes will be awarded commensurate with the number of entries in each class.

Hugh Leighton will be the Sailing Master and the pilots briefing will be held at approx. 10.15 on Saturday morning. Entry fee 20 pounds per pilot. Saturday evening at the Queen Adelaide.

Please note: First aid cover will be in attendance. All pilots will require proof of identity photo driving licence or passport in order to be allowed onto Bassingbourn camp and should inform Steve Borrill (Email or 07796 694 743) before 9th June that they will be attending the event. There are no facilities on the site for camping or caravans however an accommodation list can be found at 4Hotels. There is no access to the camp before Saturday morning except for leaving trailers by arrangement with Steve Borrill.

World Championships 2010 (posted 10 May 2010)
This year's World Championships take place at De Panne, Belgium.

Class 8 racing is from 28th Sept to 2nd Oct, class 2, 3, 5s, 5 Promo, Standart is on 9th-15th Oct.

Brean Regatta (posted 22 Feb 2010)
Brean will be holding a National Sand Yacht Regatta over the weekend of the 13th/14th March 2010. This will be for Class 3, 5 and Standart. All clubs are welcome. Entry Fee 20 pounds with practice on Friday 12th March. Signing in will be at 10o/c on Saturday the 13th.

A Dinner on Saturday night has been arranged for 7o/c at the Beachcomer Inn. 2 Courses with Coffee 11.50 pounds per person.

Brean Land Yacht Club will be holding a National Regatta at Brean Beach during the weekend 28/29 Nov 2009. This will be for the classes 3,5 & Standart. All classes are welcome, entry fee 20 pounds with practice on Friday 27th from 12pm onwards. Signing in will be at 10.am on Saturday 28th. A saturday evening meal has been arranged at The Beachcomber Inn. This will be a 3 course meal with coffee for 16 pounds per person.

York Land Sailing Club invitation (posted 12 Sep 2009)
York Land Yachting Club open invitation 10th & 11th October, all classes & types of land yachts are welcome to come along to Elvington Airfield on either the Sat/Sun or both. Meeting aim is to have some good sailing and make friends with fellow sailors within the land yachting community, if you haven't sailed on Elvington Airfield or its been a while since your last visit, then this is your chance to enjoy this huge site, we have 2 miles of runway with service roads alongside as well as the large pan area, being one of the longest runways in the uk & remote from public access making this an excellent sailing site.

Food & refreshments available at Yorkshire Air Museum Mess/canteen from 10.00 until 16.30hrs each day, please ask us for a pass to gain access to the museum on the day to avoid paying the entrance charge. Link

Sailing fee 10 pounds per day to cover 3rd party insurance and Airfield hire, we also have a number of club yachts available, if you would like to use one of these please get in touch.

Please email Mike Bawden in advance to obtain access code for combination lock on main gate.

18/19th April. The festival is for kite & wind sports being coordinated by the local wind sports club Wind & Wheels in conjunction with North Somerset Council. From single lines to sails! Landsailor magazine returns (posted 07 Jan 2009)
The BFSLYC are pleased to annouce the return of the Landsailor magazine . Martin Leach has taken the position of Editor, and he invites anybody to contact him, if they would like to contribute to the magazine.

Editions of the magazine will be published here. There is also a link there, that allows people to subscribe to the mailing list. Subscribers will be notified when a new edition is available.
