Spam policy - at the BFSLYC we take a very dim view of spam - those annoying emails that clog up our email 'inboxes' with advertisements for worthless products and services that we do not want. When you select any email link on the website you can be assured that your email address will be used only for the purpose of responding to your message.

Email address protection is used throughout the website which makes it impossible for spammers to retrieve email addresses from the website. When you select an email link, you will be redirected to the website's mail form. Enter your message and it will reach the correct contact. You will also receive an acknowledgement from the website. If you do not receive this message, it may mean that the email address that you supplied is not correct. Please check it and try again.

Additional protection is provided by the mail form, which prevents multiple messages from being sent to the same contact within a 10 minute period. It is possible to circumvent this system, but it is inconvenient to do so and spammers will give up in most cases.

When you send a message to a website contact, it is copied to the Webmaster who stores it for reference. This is used to assess the types of requests that website contacts receive. If we receive a large number of similar requests, we can tune the website to make it easier for visitors to find the information themselves, without having to wait for a response from one of the website contacts.

The vast majority of our website visitors have a genuine interest in land sailing, and we will do our utmost to provide them with the information that they require, in a timely fashion. We receive a large number of inquiries on a daily basis but strive to respond within a 24 hour period (it is usually much less than this). If you have any problems with the contacts on the website, please message the Webmaster, and he will do whatever he can to move things along. You may also message the Webmaster if you are unsure about which contact to use - he will redirect your message to the most appropriate contact.
